Grassroots Program
Grassroots Courses

Main focus is on football; however, special motor coordination and total body conditioning are also taught. Great Football Coaching Programmes are open to boys and girls aged 5-14 of all abilities, from complete beginners to advanced players. Programmes are taught in English by Great Football United’s professional UEFA-qualified coaches from Europe, with a Chinese assistant coach where required. Courses are aimed to teaching fundamental skills and building a passion for football through a structured programme of fun games and skill-building drills and small-sided match play. We believe that a child must have fun and truly enjoy what he or she is doing to learn successfully. Programmes run all year round at weekends during term time, with intensive camps on offer during school holidays.

Grassroots coaching courses mostly run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. For more info contact us here>>

Soccer Challenge Day

GFU holds its annual Soccer Challenge Day activities for students at the beginning of September and the beginning of March of every year. The Soccer Challenge Day is a fun football activity where students can play in matches and challenge themselves according to GFU’s test program. Each student will receive a Soccer Challenge Day medal and a chance to win individual and team trophies. There are four age groups (age 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14) and four trophies for those who achieve the highest scores in GFU’s test drills. GFU has set up a new system which helps to follow the improvement of the students’ skill levels. Additionally, it shows parents what they have learned. It also helps the coaches to see where students need improvement, creating a more effective coaching program. Last, but not least, students can play fun football with their friends for free.
